At Kurrista, we prepare food fresh and specifically against customer orders. Because our products are freshly prepared and perishable, conventional product returns are generally not possible.

This Return, Refund & Replacement Policy explains when a customer may request a refund, replacement or other appropriate resolution for an order placed through the Kurrista website.

This Policy should be read together with our Terms & Conditions, Privacy Policy, and Shipping & Payment Policy.

1. FOOD RETURNS

As Kurrista sells freshly prepared and perishable food, food items cannot ordinarily be returned after delivery.

For food safety and hygiene reasons, customers should not send consumed, opened or partially consumed food back to Kurrista.

However, if there is a genuine issue with an order, Kurrista will review the complaint and may provide an appropriate resolution, including a replacement, refund, partial refund, store credit or another suitable remedy, subject to the circumstances and applicable law.

2. WHEN CAN I REQUEST A REFUND OR REPLACEMENT?

Customers should contact Kurrista as soon as reasonably possible if an order has a significant issue, including:

Wrong Item

You received an item that was different from the item ordered.

Missing Item

One or more paid items were missing from your order.

Significant Quality Issue

The food received has a significant quality issue that makes it unsuitable for consumption.

Damaged or Spilled Order

The food or packaging has been significantly damaged or spilled during preparation or delivery.

Food Safety Concern

You believe that the food presents a genuine food-safety concern.

Incorrect Order

The order received materially differs from the order confirmed by Kurrista.

Other Significant Issue

Any other significant issue that reasonably warrants investigation and an appropriate customer remedy.

3. HOW TO REPORT A PROBLEM

Please contact Kurrista as soon as reasonably possible after receiving your order.

To help us investigate the matter, we may request:

  • Order number;
  • Customer name;
  • Mobile number;
  • Description of the problem;
  • Photographs of the food;
  • Photographs of the packaging;
  • Video evidence where relevant;
  • Payment details or transaction reference, where applicable; and
  • Any other information reasonably necessary to investigate the complaint.

For food-quality or packaging complaints, customers are encouraged to provide photographs before consuming or disposing of the affected food, where reasonably possible.

This helps Kurrista investigate the complaint accurately.

4. INVESTIGATION OF COMPLAINTS

Kurrista may review the complaint and relevant order information before deciding on an appropriate resolution.

Depending on the circumstances, we may:

  • Replace the affected item;
  • Replace the complete order;
  • Provide a full refund;
  • Provide a partial refund;
  • Provide store credit;
  • Provide another reasonable remedy; or
  • Determine that no refund or replacement is appropriate.

The resolution will depend on the facts of the individual case and applicable law.

5. FOOD SAFETY COMPLAINTS

Food safety complaints are treated seriously.

If you believe that a Kurrista food product may be unsafe, please stop consuming the product and contact us at care@kurrista.com immediately.

We may request relevant information, including photographs, order details, packaging information and details of the concern, to enable us to investigate the matter.

Where appropriate, Kurrista may take internal food-safety and quality-control measures and cooperate with relevant authorities.

FSSAI provides a consumer grievance mechanism for complaints concerning food premises, food products and online food delivery platforms.

6. ALLERGEN-RELATED COMPLAINTS

Customers with food allergies or intolerances should review the applicable menu information and contact Kurrista before placing an order where clarification is required.

If a customer has a known allergy, the customer should communicate it to Kurrista before ordering.

Where an allergen or ingredient was disclosed or reasonably identifiable, or where the customer did not inform Kurrista of a known allergy before ordering, a refund or replacement may not be available solely because the customer subsequently experiences an allergic reaction.

Nothing in this section limits any rights available to customers under applicable law.

7. CHANGE OF MIND

Because Kurrista prepares food specifically against customer orders, a customer generally cannot return food simply because they:

  • Changed their mind;
  • Ordered the wrong item;
  • No longer want the food;
  • Ordered more food than required; or
  • Do not like the taste or personal flavour profile of the food.

However, where a product is defective, unsafe, materially different from what was ordered, or otherwise gives rise to a remedy under applicable law, the matter will be reviewed accordingly.

8. CANCELLATION BEFORE PREPARATION

If you wish to cancel an order, please contact Kurrista immediately.

If cancellation is requested before food preparation has commenced, Kurrista may, where operationally possible, cancel the order and process an applicable refund.

Cancellation cannot be guaranteed once preparation has commenced.

9. CANCELLATION AFTER PREPARATION

Once food preparation has commenced, cancellation may no longer be possible because the food has been prepared specifically for the customer.

If the order has already been prepared or dispatched, Kurrista may be unable to cancel the order or provide a refund solely because the customer no longer wishes to receive it.

This does not affect any refund or remedy required under applicable law.

10. FAILED DELIVERY

A refund may not ordinarily be available where an order cannot be delivered because of circumstances attributable to the customer, including:

  • Incorrect delivery address;
  • Incomplete delivery address;
  • Incorrect telephone number;
  • Customer being unavailable;
  • Customer refusing to accept the order;
  • Customer not responding to delivery calls;
  • Customer providing insufficient delivery instructions; or
  • Other circumstances preventing successful delivery attributable to the customer.

Because the food is freshly prepared and perishable, Kurrista may not be able to reuse or resell the food.

Any refund or other remedy will be considered based on the circumstances and applicable law.

11. THIRD-PARTY DELIVERY PARTNERS

Kurrista may use independent third-party food delivery providers to deliver customer orders.

If a delivery issue occurs, Kurrista may coordinate with the relevant delivery partner to investigate the matter.

Customers should report significant delivery problems to Kurrista as soon as reasonably possible.

The involvement of a third-party delivery provider does not remove any consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

12. REFUNDS FOR ONLINE PAYMENTS

Where a refund is approved for an online payment, the refund will generally be processed through the original payment method or another appropriate payment mechanism.

The time required for the refund to reach the customer's account may depend on:

  • Payment gateway;
  • Bank;
  • Card issuer;
  • UPI provider;
  • Wallet provider; or
  • Other financial institution.

Kurrista is not responsible for delays caused solely by third-party payment providers or financial institutions after the refund has been initiated.

13. CASH ON DELIVERY REFUNDS

Where an order was paid for through Cash on Delivery, the refund method may vary depending on the circumstances.

Kurrista may request appropriate bank/UPI/payment details where necessary to process an approved refund.

Customers should provide accurate refund information.

14. DUPLICATE PAYMENTS

If you believe that you have accidentally paid twice for the same order, please contact Kurrista with:

  • Order number;
  • Transaction reference(s);
  • Date and time of payment; and
  • Other relevant payment information.

After verification, a confirmed duplicate payment may be refunded through the appropriate payment method.

15. PROMOTIONAL & COMPLIMENTARY ITEMS

Promotional items, complimentary items and discounts may be subject to specific offer conditions.

If a promotional or complimentary item is unavailable, Kurrista may provide an appropriate alternative or modify the promotional benefit where reasonably necessary.

Promotional items may not have a separate cash value unless expressly stated otherwise.

16. STORE CREDIT

Where appropriate, Kurrista may offer store credit instead of a monetary refund.

Store credit:

  • May be subject to a validity period communicated at the time of issue;
  • May be linked to the customer's account or mobile number;
  • Cannot ordinarily be exchanged for cash; and
  • May be subject to specific terms communicated when issued.

Where a monetary refund is legally required, store credit will not be used to defeat that right.

17. REFUND NOTIFICATION

Where a refund is approved, Kurrista may notify the customer through email, SMS, WhatsApp, telephone or another appropriate communication method.

Customers should retain the refund confirmation or transaction reference until the refund has been successfully received.

18. FRAUDULENT OR ABUSIVE REFUND CLAIMS

Kurrista reserves the right to investigate repeated, suspicious or potentially fraudulent refund claims.

Examples may include:

  • Repeated claims for food that was successfully delivered;
  • False claims regarding missing items;
  • Manipulation or alteration of photographs;
  • Fraudulent payment disputes;
  • Misuse of promotional offers; or
  • Other conduct reasonably indicating abuse of the refund process.

Where permitted by law, Kurrista may restrict accounts, refuse abusive claims or take appropriate action.

Nothing in this section limits a customer's legitimate statutory rights.

19. NO GENERAL PRODUCT RETURN PERIOD

Because Kurrista primarily sells freshly prepared and perishable food, there is no general 7-day, 15-day or 30-day return period applicable to food orders.

Customers should report genuine issues promptly after delivery so that Kurrista can properly investigate the order while relevant information and, where applicable, the food and packaging are still available.

21. RELATIONSHIP WITH OTHER POLICIES

This Return, Refund & Replacement Policy should be read together with:

  • Kurrista Terms & Conditions;

If any provision of this Policy conflicts with a mandatory requirement of applicable law, the applicable law will prevail.

The updated version will be published on the Kurrista website with a revised “Last Updated” date.
